Whether it’s record-breaking rain or a catastrophic hurricane, Florida homes need to be built to last. A new structural building system called RENCO is bringing the state’s homes into the future.
Miami-based RENCO USA has a new building material that can start to bend that trajectory. “They say the greenest building you can build is the one you don’t have to build,” said managing director Patrick Murphy in our latest On Site video series. “I think there’s an opportunity for the world to do better with the way we build.”
The construction company has created a modular system made up entirely of recycled materials that are not only better for the environment but are also billed as being stronger, easier, and faster to build than traditional concrete.
People may picture gray, claustrophobic bunkers when imagining structures that can stand up to the increasingly frequent extreme weather events linked to the overheating of our planet.
However, there are a number of remarkable homes that don’t sacrifice comfort in the pursuit of safety, and the eco-friendly, alternative materials used in some of these buildings are gaining momentum in the construction industry.
A Miami-based company has developed a new type of construction that it says is 23 times stronger than concrete, protecting against intensifying hurricanes and other extreme weather events.
A Miami-based company that is disrupting the construction industry by introducing a new way to build with real-life LEGO bricks has been honored with the international award for “best construction product design” of 2023.
RENCO USA’s revolutionary new building system stood out at the BLT Built Design Awards hosted in Lucerne, Switzerland. Short for renewable composites, RENCO’s structural building system is a new way to build. Molded blocks that interlock like LEGO bricks create entire structures.
